The structural analysis prepared by Ing. Adam Kurdík showed that the stucco decorations, and especially their metal fittings, are in a state of disrepair in many places and could fall at any time without warning. Based on the occupational safety technician’s assessment and subsequent recommendation, the grottoes were closed to the public, and a safety regime for experts was established. To keep the grottoes open, at least partially, the Archbishopric of Olomouc built two covered entrances, known as grottoes viewing platforms. Thanks to these platforms, visitors can view the decorations and the current work in progress.
