Funds are needed to save, and in particular to conserve and restore, two Baroque artificial caves, known as the grottos, at the Archbishop’s Chateau in Kroměříž. These grottos are unique due to their material composition, technological design, and profound spiritual dimension. Currently, both grottos are in a state of disrepair and only partially accessible to the public. Our goal is to conserve/restore the grottos and thus preserve them for future generations. Donations from the public fundraiser will fund all grotto conservation activities (scaffolding, material and technological surveys, sample analyses, restoration works, foreign consultations, etc.), as well as media coverage and presentation of the issue. If necessary, donations will also fund other activities related to the grottos. The proceeds from the collection may be used to cover any additional overhead costs necessary to achieve the purpose of the collection, up to a maximum of 30% of the net proceeds.
